The Vanuatu Financial intelligence unit (FIU) has increased the due diligence check fee for citizenship by investment applications to $7,500 (from $5000) for all candidates applying under DSP, VCP and REO investment routes.
Applicants are required to make this payment first to start their application process. The FIU conducts the initial due diligence on background of investors and requests additional information if necessary. For example criminal record checks, Interpol database of wanted persons, UN sanctions list, source of origins funds.
