How to Apply for Schengen Visa

Schengen Visa

From 4 May 2022, citizens of Vanuatu therefore need a short stay visa to travel to the Schengen area for tourism, business or visiting family and friends. The EU authorities imposed full visa requirement for all nationals of Vanuatu is suspended until 3 August 2024. This effected all Vanuatu citizens visiting the Schengen area for tourism, business and visiting family and friends.

Vanuatu citizens can apply for Schengen visa at French embassy, Port Vila. The visa free is 80 euros. France represents 12 Schengen States in Vanuatu: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Czech Republic, and Slovenia.

But there is no agreement for representation of Schengen States for the circumscription of Fiji, Nauru, Kiribati, Tonga and Tuvalu. As a consequence, please note the French Embassy in Port-Vila only delivers visa when France is the State of first entry in Schengen OR State of main stay. Please check your ticket before applying.

To visit Germany, only persons requiring a visa and permanently residing in Nauru, Vanuatu or the Solomon Islands have to apply for a visa at the German Consulate General in Sydney
