National ID Card and Birth Registration

Every person who becomes a citizen of Vanuatu is required to register their birth and obtain a National Identity Card from the Civil Registration and Identity Management Department, in accordance with the Civil Registration and Identity Management Act.

This step is completed after the Citizenship Application has been approved and the applicant has paid all required fees and charges under the Real Estate Option (REO) Program.

Birth Registration

To complete the birth registration process, the applicant must provide the following:

  1. Completed Vanuatu Individual Birth Registration Form (Document 6.1) for each applicant and all family members included in the application.
  2. Notarised copy of the birth certificate of each applicant and any accompanying family members.
  3. Passport-size photograph.

National ID Card and E-ID

To obtain the Vanuatu National ID Card and E-ID, the applicant must:

  1. Attend a Vanuatu Biometric Collection Station (currently located in Port Vila or Hong Kong, with Dubai expected soon).
  2. Provide a completed Vanuatu ID Card and E-ID Form.
    • This form will be supplied by the Master Agent upon request after the citizenship application is approved and all fees are paid.
  3. Provide a notarised copy of the birth certificate for each applicant and any accompanying family members.
  4. Biometric photograph collection — a photo of the applicant and relevant family members will be taken at the Biometric Collection Station.
  5. Issuance of the National ID Card after successful biometric registration.
